One of the problems of working a ‘corporate’ job is heading out on the town after and not being able to transition your outfit. I mean who wants to go to happy hour wearing frumpy dress pants, a button up shirt and tote bag filled with business files? I am lucky enough that I work for an amazing family owned business who is totally into art and I can usually push the limits with what I wear to work, while still keeping it business causal and professional.
I put this post together with a day to date in mind. I wore this outfit to work and threw on a few different pieces for the date. During the day I wore this exact outfit with a black sweater and pink suede flats – check out the post to see! For my date outfit I put on a beautiful wrap velvet choker, I have worn chokers to work, but it just doesn’t seem completely professional in my opinion. My outfit below is black jeans, these in particular are sooooo comfortable and stretchy. I have a basic black blouse on for both the day an date, but transitioning into night I subbed a sweater for a trendy faux suede moto jacket.
Another thing you can do to go from day to date even if you cannot change your outfit, is change the little things. Let that hair down, throw on some lipstick and heels and the difference is shocking! You ever see the trending bun drop videos…? That’s how I feel on a daily basis!
Do you have to dress up for work? What is your go-to switch of outfits?
