You have to appreciate the honesty of your spouse on your fashion choices. I feel like most men are kind of like children; they tell you the brutal truth and do not hold back. My husband has always been one for honesty and is always looking out for what looks good on my body type. If he does not like a trend, he will not lie to me. He will let me wear what I want, but will always tell me if it looks bad or great. We have been together for almost 7 years and I’ve often had to justify why I am wearing a certain outfit or paired something a specific way, which usually ends with a roll eye and an ‘okay babe’.
I have had plenty of old boyfriends who criticized my outfit choices, but in a selfish way. They didn’t care that it was what I wanted to wear and how I wanted to express my fashion sense. It was about what they thought and how other people would perceive me. At the time, I was naive enough to change my style for them and their families, and for all you single ladies out there… don’t do it! Don’t let anyone change your personal style or conform to what you think someone wants you to look like.
One of my favorite stories of my Husband is when we first started dating. One of his friends commented on our new relationship, saying,“Yeah, she’s nice and all, but she dresses so weird.” Michael responded, “Yes, but I like it!” #TrueLove
His latest critique? Chokers.
Riva.

21 Dec 2016MY husband doesn’t comment on my clothes much. He’ll compliment if I look put together and he really likes it. But we’re extremely relaxed and are often in jeans and tees.

22 Dec 2016My Husband says I look great in everything and at times I find myself thinking “really hunnie?!” but I learned to accept it and take it for what it was; a compliment. He does say that he doesn’t like flared denim so much though.

9 Jan 2017Omg, you so don’t dress weird. Millennial boys!
But, I do agree with him on chokers, Maybe because I wore them in high school in the 90s and I’m too old to do grunge/goth again.

18 Jan 2017loved your take on this! My man is the funniest sometimes when he gives me fashion advice. But even funnier is that sometimes, he picks the sickest couture-like outfits, and I’m just like “oh well, maybe I should listen to you more often” lol. Good post dear, loved it!
