Fuzzy Sweater & Pearl Mules

I have been hoarding this fuzzy white sweater for a blog post since last fall. I have worn it multiple times in winter, but I feel it is a perfect spring or summer sweater as well. I bought it at a local boutique called Hyde Park in Wauwatosa after seeing a model wearing it during a fashion show. Going to fashion shows where you can actually afford to purchase the items are always the best because you get to see the items on an actual person. I know I personally end up buying things that I may not have thought I would have liked.

I bought these shoes from my favorite discount store, I feel a bit like Barbie and/or a mail order bride when I wear them. They have velvet, pearls, and studs – how could I say no!? When I saw them, they were a pair of sandals I had to have. Although I often give advice on purchasing for trendy and statement pieces, sometimes I honestly cannot help myself when I see a piece that I really love. Have you had a trendy piece that has been in your wardrobe forever? Or the exact opposite- bought a nice staple piece that is sitting in the back of your closet with the tags on it?

Distressed jeans, I am such a fan. I remember back in high school how cool they were too. I distinctly remember taking a cheese grader to my knees and making my own style jeans to look like Abercrombie & Fitch’s jeans. It is seriously so weird to think about hearing my Mom say all those years, ‘styles come around’, and she is SO right. Does that I mean I am officially old now that the 90’s are in?! I just wish I would have kept all my velvet, chokers and striped thick knits.

Riva.
