Bahama Mama: 5 Short Days on Paradise Island

If I could go to an all inclusive resort once a year, I would be a happy camper. There is nothing better than traveling, storing your wallet (minus tipping money), and enjoying unlimited food and beverages. Can’t think of anything better, me neither!?

At the end of February, one of my best friends asked if Michael and I would be interested in going on a tropical vacation to break up winter with her and her husband and two other couples. We got researching and stumbled upon Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Paradise Island is one of 700 islands (30 of which are inhabited) in the beautiful Caribbean country.

We spend our time in the Bahamas at the modern and exclusive Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island. The all-inclusive resort is an adult-only all-inclusive resort and was perfect for us eight midwesterners. The newly remodeled resort was small, but was an absolute delight. Here are some photos of the common areas at the resort.

One thing I always keep in mind while looking up all-inclusive resorts is how close it is to the airport. Luckily it only took us 15 minutes before we were greeted with a glass of champagne at check-in. The hotel had a delicious buffet, live entertainment, Insta-worthy views, and amazing staff. Our room was perfect as well! I mean come on, look at these views!

One of my favorite thing to do while staying on a beachfront resort is walking the beach. I think this beach was one of the most beautiful and clean beaches I have ever visited! My husband and a couple of the guys walked as far on the beach as we could and it was clean and clear water throughout! Nothing more relaxing than walking the beach with a cocktail in hand, in my opinion.

Another fun thing about the Riu Resort is that it is right next door to the Atlantis Resort. When I think of the Atlantis, I instantly think about the Mary Kate and Ashley movie, Holiday in the Sun. We went to their casino, huge aquarium, and dance club a couple times and even had the opportunity to sneak into the grounds.

The resort was so close to downtown so we ventured out one day to downtown Nassau to explore the city.

The ONLY downfall of the trip was not seeing Pig Island. We had booked our all-day excursion which was sadly canceled due to high winds. As I am not a boat lover, I would have been miserable so I suppose it was a good decision. Now, another excuse to come back to visit!

Overall, we had an amazing time and I highly recommend visiting the Bahamas and Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island!
