Milwaukee’s newest hotel did NOT disappoint. Saint Kate Arts Hotel is a boutique hotel created by artists for artists. The hotel’s name even gives a nod to Saint Catherine, the patron saint of artists and all that she inspired. The entire hotel feels like a work of art with not one detail missed.

Imagine staying overnight in an art museum that is inviting and offers something new at every corner. While at the hotel, it isn’t out of character to get lost in the art, as it is displayed everywhere! In addition to the variety of pieces displayed, you can often find music, dance, or theater performances happening.
Right off the lobby is an exhibit that will change every few months. We had the pleasure of viewing the work by Lisa Beck: Send and Receive and MOWA DTN: Sound l Asleep by Steven Foster & Tomiko Jones. Both of the exhibits are free to the public and are wildly interesting.
The Room
What instantly drew me to the boutique hotel, was their one-of-a-kind rooms and suites. We stayed in a king suite that was comfortable and spacious. Saint Kate offers a variety of rooms with city or river views. They also have five rooms designed completely by local artists. Each room is vastly different, including one covered in handprinted animal prints and another with music albums as wallpaper.
Let’s talk

In addition to their 219 unique suites, there are five bar and restaurant options – all of which Michael and I had the pleasure of experiencing. Whether you are a visitor staying at the hotel or a local looking for a unique experience, Saint Kate has you covered.
The Bar
Centered in the lobby, The Bar offers cocktails that will blow your socks off. The variety of drinks
The Dark Room T.D.R
Talk about an experience! The entrance to the exclusive restaurant takes you through a bookshelf into an intimate dining room. The ambiance at T.D.R is ideal for an anniversary dinner, celebration or, hell, a fancy, delicious meal. Treat yourself! Their menu supplies delicacies like a 21-day aged NY strip (from CDK Farm in Lena, IL), Roasted King Crab Legs, and shaved truffle as a topping.
Giggly
My dreams came true when this champagne bar came to Downtown Milwaukee. Giggly is perfect for date night, a nightcap, or girls’ night out. Decorated with vintage champagne posters, local art, and Veuve Clicquot displays, you cannot help but post an Instagram pic there. You can even complete the Parisian experience with delicious caviar.

Aria
Brunch is probably my favorite meal so I was very excited to try Aria. But you do not have to be a basic brunch babe to dine at the 2nd level restaurant, as they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With an abundance of natural light, the ambiance was cool. Michael almost devoured his ‘Breakfast Boy’ sandwich before I could grab a photo. The Usinger’s bacon was cooked to perfection. I opted for the ‘Fresh Avocado Toast,’ of course, and the deviled egg white topping hit the spot.
Proof Pizza
This fast-casual Neapolitan style pizza restaurant is delicious and the perfect late-night snack! Proof Pizza offers tasty pizza, filling salads, sandwiches, and Italian snacks. You can also grab an Italian soda, beer, or glass of wine while you’re there. We took the Margherita and Garden Style (white pizza) up to the room and cuddled up for a movie. I honestly cannot wait to sample the entire menu!

Room Service
I highly recommend the unique and exquisite Saint Kate, The Arts Hotel, whether is it to stay, dine, or drink! The experience you will have is sure to be one-of-a-kind!
