Christmas in the Country: A Weekend at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

I have always wanted to stay at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. When I think of Lake Geneva, I think of the lavish and prestigious hotel. I mentioned in a previous blog (here), the hotel’s grounds always have the best decorations during the holidays, so I was thrilled for the opportunity to stay. Upon arrival at the resort and spa, you feel cozy and warm. The resort and spa offers 356 guest rooms and is conveniently located for visitors coming from Milwaukee or Chicago. With a private golf course, 20 downhill ski runs, multiple swimming pools, and activities going on daily, you will never be bored at the Grand Geneva!

Our room was spacious and comfortable with beautiful views!

Let’s talk about the Christmas decor! It’s everywhere! As you drive down the entrance to the resort and spa, there are the 12 Days of Christmas themed vignettes. Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the weekend was walking around the grounds and hotel to see the holiday decorations. Whether it is a light up statue, a Christmas tree, or their adorable gingerbread houses, they are so festive and fun!

On our first night at the hotel, we visited the Evolve bar and were delighted to see they had igloos outside. We reserved one and enjoyed cocktails in a warm and cuddly environment. The igloos are located on their Embers Terrace, which overlooks the grounds and has a perfect cozy feeling.

An added bonus to our stay was the upgraded access to the Geneva Club Lounge. For a small fee, you can add this bonus to your stay at the Grand Geneva. There are workstations, Wi-Fi, multiple TVs, and a huge fireplace – perfect for relaxing. The lounge also offers complimentary breakfast, light snacks, and hors d’oeuvres.

WELL Spa + Salon

During my stay, I had the pleasure of visiting the WELL Spa + Salon. Located in its own building on the Grand Geneva grounds, the salon and spa is welcoming and relaxing. The spa had a spotlessly clean locker room with cozy robes and a huge whirlpool. I changed and relaxed until I was called for my 50-minute massage. I chose from an assortment of essential oils and my only task was to relax. The massage was great, and I was offered a complimentary mimosa, afterward. I would highly recommend adding a spa service to your stay.

Ristoranté Brissago

A contemporary twist on Italian cuisine, Ristorantè Brissago is always a treat. I have eaten at the restaurant a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Their menu is unique and tasty. Not to mention they had a large and fabulous wine menu!

What we ate:

Calamari Fritti | Corn Flour Fried, Tinkerbell Peppers, Lemon Basil Vinaigrette

Caesar Salad | Romaine, Parmesan, Garlic Croutons

Truffle Sacchetti | Black Truffles, Parmesan Cream, Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Agnello | Rack of Lamb, Roasted Artichokes, Mint, Lemon Aioli

Honestly, I had such an amazing time during our stay, and I cannot wait to get back to the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa! It was the perfect weekend getaway.
