How I’ve Stayed Productive WFH: Tour my At-Home Office

Whether you’re working from home or slowly transitioning back to the office, either way, it’s hard to continue to stay focused during these weird times. Over the last few months I have found a few techniques that have worked for me to stay focused and on-task.

We do not all have access to an at-home office space, so our dining rooms, living rooms, and kitchen counters have filled that void. Finding the right area for your head space is equally important. As you know, I have partnered with Colder’s Furniture to furnish my upstairs loft space. This transformation has been amazing for my work. I am cozy, yet I am not at my living room couch, where I usually go to relax and unwind. Check out my before and after blog post here! Need some tips to stay focused, Colder’s wrote an amazing blog post here – https://www.colders.com/blog/working-from-home.

I find that being cozy increases my productivity. Pajamas have become the work uniform for 2020! Now, everyone is different when it comes to their WFH dress code, but I find changing out of my sleeping pajamas into more casual athleisure or a different casual pajama set makes me more productive. However, I do get fully dressed at least once a week for my sanity. Finding the best balance for you and your work is very important.

Everyone is different when it comes to background noise while working. Some like music, others enjoy podcasts, and some even like the TV for some light sound. When I am feeling stressed, I put on meditation music. When I am hyper focused, I put on a business podcast. Some days I like TV going on in the background with a show or movie I don’t have to pay attention to. Luckily, I am able to do all of these with my TV in my loft space that was provided from Flanner’s Home Entertainment

Ever feel like your head is all over the place and you’re not getting anything done? Because I do. It’s okay to take a few minutes to step away from work and reorient yourself. Whether that means doing the dishes or folding a few pieces of laundry, it will definitely help your focus! I like to take Helga for a walk and then I can get to work while she relaxes on the sectional. She has been obsessed with sleeping on it since the day it was delivered. It was important for me to make sure the space was pet proof. Here are a few tips to make sure your space is fur child proof – https://www.colders.com/blog/pet-proof

Another thing that keeps me on task is writing things down. An idea, a project, or whatever it is, we all know creativity comes at weird times. Creativity, for me, comes in the middle of the workday, or in the middle of the night when I’m trying to sleep. Seize the moment when it comes, even if that means writing down the idea and getting to it later. I am the type of person that likes to see what I need to do in one spot so To-Do lists are my jam!

Looking to update your space? Take advantage of Colder’s Furniture’s DoubleBack Promotion! For every dollar you spend on a Restonic Mattress, you get $2 to spend on furniture! My husband and I took advantage of this amazing offer when we purchased a new mattress, we got our entire bedroom set covered as well!
