A graphic tee, denim and a comfortable cross body handbag with a colorful scarf for accent. The perfect casual outfit!
If you haven’t noticed, I have been all about the graphic tops lately. La Croix’s, ‘be there in a Prosecco’ was a fave; next one up with be my floral Jurassic Park Tee; so this ‘hola back’ top was a must. You know tucking in your top is all the rage right now, and the cut of the back makes it even easier. We all know the bulky fabric look stacked on your butt is not a cute look. Or maybe you haven’t noticed it yet… get a full length mirror, turn around and take a good look! What I love about this tank is the website description:
The warmer weather has me craving outside patios and sangria. Where can I get both… Movida. I decided to capture a night out with my friendnographer, Gina. I am putting a twist on my next couple blog posts by not only featuring my outfit but showing where and what I actually do for fun! Why not feature a business I like in the process??
Summer!
I feel like it’s finally here. Watermelon, bonfires and lake days are some of my favorite things about this season. I also love not wearing jackets or being concerned about how late I will be for work if it snows the night before. I am a lover of fall and winter fashion, but I do like to dress up in bright colors and feel I have a few more options when it comes to the clothing choices in warmer weather.
Another fun thing about summer is that my birthday is in July! This year is extra exciting because I am turning the big 3-0 and probably have a different mentality on it than most people do… I am excited about it! I am very content and happy with my life so I am excited to see if my 30’s are going to be as rewarding and eventful as my 20’s.
Finding dresses for summer events like weddings, bridal showers, bachelorhood parties and even a night out on the town can be such a headache. Often when you do find something that fits well and you like, it costs way more than you can afford. When I saw the price tag on this dress, I knew I needed it and would find any reason to wear it. When it arrived, it looked WAY chic and expensive in person. What I love about this dress is that it is a great length. Finding a dress that does not cup my booty or is not an awkward long length is a very difficult task. This dress does it all!
I’m not going to lie, these photos were taken when it was cold enough to wear a jacket. Although, here in Wisconsin you never know when to put the jackets and boots away… June? July? who knows, every year is different.
I came into work wearing this blazer style coat and immediately my co-worker Melba (me in 30 years) told me she liked my ‘boyfriend’s jacket’. I said, ‘HUH?’ She told me they called that style back in the day, your boyfriend’s jacket. When she said that, it immediately made me think of a high school letterman’s jacket, but loved the idea of ‘my boyfriend’ vs the ‘the quarterback who I would never have dated in any case’, concept.
Wondering why I didn’t say my Husband’s jacket… He would NEVER wear anything like this, ha! You know the saying, “doctor’s kid is always sick”, well I need a saying something like, “fashionista’s husband never gets new clothes”.
If you’re like me, you think animal print is a classic and use it as a neutral in your wardrobe. The soft and classic colors on this handbag were so striking to me! Not to mention I can carry multiple pairs of sunglasses and snacks, it is so big! I don’t wear crazy printed clothing that often and usually let my accessories steal the show, so this handbag will fit in perfectly.
The shoes! Give me a studded heel and you’ve got me. I’m in love. They really are so great to add to any basic outfit to spice it up. I can see these being worn with many summer dresses and distressed jeans.
Are you a fan of animal prints?

Something about polka dots gives me a nostalgic kind of feel. Maybe because I grew up in the 90’s and/or because I probably wore too many of them. If you have been paying attention to this spring’s trends, or maybe if you haven’t, take a look now and you will notice polka dots are everywhere. I honestly can’t get enough of them. I have had to actually stop buying clothes with the fun print… But this top was too adorable to not get… And it’s less than $20 so I didn’t have to debate for long if I needed it or not!
When I found out National Wine Day was May 25th, I was shocked because, 1. I didn’t know (shocking right?!) 2. It’s my wedding anniversary and that makes it even more fun! So what’s the perfect way to celebrate? A wine party!
Does anyone else get a little overwhelmed on what to wear on the weekends? I know that sounds ridiculous, but any other business professionals that have to dress up during the week have a little crisis for an outfit for a casual Saturday brunch… Luckily the trends have been in my favor to make life a bit easier. What I do is start with one trend and base my outfit around that. This outfit it was these amazing mom jeans. I paired it with a sweater, statement necklace and cozy mules, ta-da, I’m done!
How do you decide what to wear on the casual days?
