Trend to Try: Polka Dots

‘There is never a wrong time for a polka dot.” – Marc Jacobs

Something about polka dots gives me a nostalgic kind of feel. Maybe because I grew up in the 90’s and/or because I probably wore too many of them. If you have been paying attention to this spring’s trends, or maybe if you haven’t, take a look now and you will notice polka dots are everywhere. I honestly can’t get enough of them. I have had to actually stop buying clothes with the fun print… But this top was too adorable to not get… And it’s less than $20 so I didn’t have to debate for long if I needed it or not!

Basic Outfit

I’m not sure if it is me getting older or trends changing, but I feel that a pair of skinny jeans, a tucked basic tank top and statement shoes can really be amazing. Although I am fond of more outlandish trends- like ‘the bigger the sleeves are better’ or poms- I feel like the classic style has changed and I’m okay with it! Sometimes toning down your outfit can really make it better. As CoCo Chanel said herself, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”

An Introverted Blogger’s Holiday Picks

I had an amazing weekend last weekend! I went to a Bucks game, epic seats by the way. But I have another highlight, I was on TV. Yes, I know, I didn’t tell anyone!

Mixing Patterns & Color Blocking

This weekend I went shopping and my mind sparked while seeing a Dad and Daughter having coffee together. When I was little, my dad and I would go to Barnes & Noble (book store if you aren’t familiar) once a week. We could call it being ‘café people’ we would go to the café portion of the store and sit there for hours. My dad read or worked on his computer and I would look at fashion magazines. I would have a stack of about 15 magazines and flip through the pages, rarely read… I feel like things haven’t changed 🙂

Day to Date Outfit

One of the problems of working a ‘corporate’ job is heading out on the town after and not being able to transition your outfit. I mean who wants to go to happy hour wearing frumpy dress pants, a button up shirt and tote bag filled with business files? I am lucky enough that I work for an amazing family owned business who is totally into art and I can usually push the limits with what I wear to work, while still keeping it business causal and professional.

My Blogging Journey

I began my blogging adventure a few months ago and had no idea it would expand into such an exciting project and part of my life. I blogged a few years ago and didn’t have the resources I needed to be successful. Earlier this year I decided to take it up again as a fun hobby. I have been graced to meet and interact with fellow bloggers from near and far. It’s funny how you become friends with people you have never met!
